Using OneNote for Web, iPad, Android or Mac is fine as long as you have a Windows desktop somewhere running (and backing up) your OneNote account with OneNote 2016 or OneNote 2019. But stay far, far away from using anything other than the official Windows desktop versions (called OneNote 20?) as your only OneNote application. I still recommend OneNote 2016 - as it does do automated backups that you can then back up off-site. This is a great reminder about being prepared in those events. We export there and then one to a shared OneDrive in case our file server and backup are not accessible as we live in Florida, hurricanes and all that. We also still use OneNote 2016 as we run an on-prem file server that gets backed up.
